Architectural Design (architecture, interior design) 2.

Design Studio 2 aims to broaden and deepen architectural and interior design knowledge and practice. One of the key design tasks of the semester is to design buildings that have simple functions but also have character. Considering and handling the structure and its surroundings together, and understanding the correlations are vital factors. The aim is to continue familiarisation with architectural and interior design criteria, and their application with a uniform, coherent approach embedded in an environmental landscape architecture and/or urban context, for a building or pavilion with a simple programme. An integral part of the specific design task is preliminary research, which includes the search for, analysis, understanding and evaluation of past and contemporary analogue situations. During the conceptualisation and design phase, the requirements of the technical (in particular support structure and technology) correlations must also be taken into account. During the semester, students (also) have to design a building that will be possible to build during the summer construction exercise. Individual design and the evaluation of results is followed by selection and then further community design and planning.
