Announcement of Awards | MOME Movement Competition for the Visual Communication of Non-profit Organisations
The results of the 2021 MOME Movement 3.0 image competition have been announced: this year seventy organisations applied for the programme aimed to design an image for non-profit organisations, six of which will receive a new image. We can watch the second half of the video recorded at the MOME Graphic Design Evening to see the announcement of the results of the course, which was initiated by the students and organised for the third time this year. Each team will present the criteria based on which they created the new image for the winning organisations.

The MOME Movement Competition started out in 2018 as a joint project launched by Graphic Design BA1 students for the purpose of community building. In 2020, the project entered a new phase: evolved from a grassroots group, the initiative was accepted by the university with the help of Andrea Schmidt, a professor from the Institute for Theoretical Studies, and Balázs Vargha, head of the Graphic Design MA programme. As a result, it is now available for MOME students in the form of a course they lead, included in the curriculum. Thus, Movement has paved the way for interdisciplinary cooperation in 2020: in addition to graphic design students, students in the animation, media design, design management and design culture programmes are also involved.
‘This is a great opportunity for design students to demonstrate their professional knowledge in a real-life situation, while representatives of the foundations can learn how to cooperate with one or more graphic designers. In addition to providing help, MOME Movement also provides the added value of graphic design, i.e. educates at the same time: it opens up the eyes of everyday users as to why it is important for an organisation to have coherent communication in visual terms as well’, Márk Weiszer, project manager and co-founder of MOME Movement, explained in a previous interview with Hype and Hyper.
