Digital Museum in the Digitalised Every Day Life | A Guest Lecture by Kinga Germán at the 28. National Conference on Education
This year’s 28th Országos Közművelődési Konferencia (National Conference on Community Learning and Development) will be held in a new location, in a closed setting, and of course adhering to the necessary precautions (hand sanitisers, mandatory mask use). The event will feature a presentation by associate professor Kinga Germán, from the MOME Institute for Theoretical Studies titled Digitális Múzeum a digitalisált hétköznapokban? (Digitalised Museum for Digitalised Everyday Life?).
Topic: Post-digital societies have found their way out of the lockdown darkness caused by Covid-19 precisely because of the advanced state of digitalisation. After the initial shock, the museums themselves became increasingly active in the digital space, as for months they could only reach their visitors through online, web-based platforms. But what seemed to be a new communication channel, a new platform for the museum scene, also appeared in public education and in everyday life. In my presentation, I will highlight the opportunities that made it possible to draw from the treasure trove of digital museum traditions while waiting for the joy of the Great Offline Return.
