Our university is maintained by Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, whose strategic goal is to make MOME the most renowned and recognised university in its field in Central Europe by 2030.

Members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees of the Asset Management Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design held its inaugural meeting on 15 July 2020. As stated in the announcement of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology on 11 June 2020, its members include:

Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy
President of the Asset Management Foundation for Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design

Head of the innovation agency Design Terminal, founder of the Brain Bar future festival, co-founder of Datapolis, which combines urban planning with data science. He was born in 1984 in Budapest. He pursued his studies at Corvinus, CEU, Stanford Business School and the London School of Economics. In 2020, he was awarded the Golden Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit.

József Fülöp
member of the Board of Trustees

He is Rector of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, now in his second term of office.  University professor, visual communication designer, animation film director, producer, ministerial commissioner for the Hungarian creative industry.

Gábor Kopek
member of the Board of Trustees

Photographer, media artist, university professor, former rector of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, initiator of the MOME campus development project, which he headed as Prime Minister’s Envoy, currently acting as Ministerial Commissioner for the 21st Laboratory Programme, which explores the links between creative thinking and arts education.

Sándor Scheer
member of the Board of Trustees

He graduated from the Széchenyi István Technical College with a degree in bridge engineering, after which he started working in the construction industry in the field of building construction. Founder, co-owner and CEO of Market Építő Zrt., one of the largest domestic construction companies; he also owns Hotel Clark, a real estate development company of Unione Group, and develops and operates the restaurants as a partner of the Hungarian McDonald’s Developmental Licencee.

Szabolcs Szemerey
member of the Board of Trustees

As the CEO of Kecskeméti Duális Oktatás Zrt., he was responsible for the design and construction of the CAMPUS project in Kecskemét, and was also involved in materials technology, environmental technology, international logistics and educational technology development projects at John von Neumann University. He has achieved significant success in the field of domestic automotive and machinery industry supplier developments in cooperation with domestic and internationally-owned companies in the Kecskemét area. Additionally, he is also an expert in a number of Chamber of Commerce and Industry projects and was involved in the strategic formulation of the New Széchényi Plan.

He graduated as a lawyer from Eötvös Loránd University, and after three years as a trainee solicitor, he passed the bar exam. He has been working as an attorney, and during his more than ten years of practice he has provided full legal representation to several foundations. He is married, and is the father of two sons.
